We are pleased to announce the date for the 2012 competition is the 21st July.
This year we will have space for 36 teams, (24 mens & 12 Ladies) spaces are limited so don't miss out on a fantastic day of rugby. Team entries will only be accepted once the date has been set. If you are interested and would like to be kept informed join the Beach Rugby Wales Facebook page and once a date is set then a mass invite will be sent out to all group members.
Entry fee is £70 per team (NON REFUNDABLE, 12 players per team) Please make cheques payable to AC Walters.
This year we have had to increase the entry fee as the Local Authority has decided to increase the rent for the Beach / Forshore. I hope this is ok with you all.

BEACH RUGBY WALES READY TO ROLL
Beach Rugby Wales is ready to roll!! We are pleased to announce that this year’s tournament will be known as the "Stephen Hughes Fine Diamonds Beach Rugby in association with Rhino Teamwear".
Stephen Hughes Fine Diamonds is one of Swansea's best known and most respected Jewellers situated in Portland Street. If you are looking for that special something then please feel free to pop along to the store where you can browse in a very pleasant atmosphere and be dealt with by highly trained staff.
Rhino Teamwear are experts in all things to do with Rugby, be it looking smart on the pitch or scrummaging down on a scrummage machine. The official kit suppliers to the 2013 British & Irish Lions will be supplying all the kit to Beach Rugby Wales 2012. All winning teams will receive a new team strip courtesy of Rhino. This year’s Referees’ will be wearing a limited edition kit as less than 20 sets of kit will get produced. BRW are pleased to say that Nigel Owens will be one of the officials at this year’s event and there will be a chance to win a signed Nigel Owens BRW Referee shirt with all proceeds going to this year’s BRW charity Wales Air Ambulance.
BRW are very pleased to be supporting Wales Air Ambulance as the official charity for 2012. On the day there will be many opportunities to help and give to such a wonderful cause as they do such an excellent job.
Whilst at the Beach, if you are feeling peckish throughout the day then fear not as Nando’s will be on site to help take the hunger away from you offering a wide range of their restaurant menu.

Beach Rugby Wales are very please to announce that Teem Reem are back. The Ladies Team from Nottingham will be taking to the sand once again.
Team Captain Michelle Hurrell said “Last year we did not know what to expect, But the Girls loved it. The camping, rugby and the Swansea nightlife made it a great weekend. We just hope we can come this year and Vajazzel the crowd with our rugby”

The radio stations will be broadcasting live feeds on the day from the Wave Stage as well as promoting the event by playing Beach Rugby Wales 2012 publicity advert.

RAF TOP GUNS HAVE GOT A LOCK ON BEACH RUGBY WALES
RAF Puma’s have registered to play in this years event.
The Pumas were only established in 2011 after a big recruitment drive from the RAFRU (women’s) committee. We generated a mass interest in women’s rugby and had enough players to field a 1st team and a development squad. We thought 7’s would be a nice close to the season and decided to enter 3 tournaments last year (Nottingham Solstice, Manchester 7’s and Newquay), which in all were a great success for us.
The RAF set up is made up of service women based all over the country, sometimes even abroad. Generally the 1st team meet each month for 5 days, encompassing training followed by a game.
Last years 7’s was made up of 3 girls who represented the Armed Forces Combined Services (a team made up from the best of the Army, Navy and Air Force).
Corporal Natasha Corns said “We are very much looking forward to this year 7’s season and have set our targets on the Beach Rugby Wales Championship”
We hope that the Pumas have enough fire power to challenge Last years winners “The 7 Kids”
